Lee's Visit & Birthday Celebration

Scott and I have neighboring birthdays and this year we were lucky enough to have his parent's come out for a visit! (He was actually also supposed to defend on March 8 but it got changed after his parents already had tickets to come so instead of a stressful weekend we had a fun weekend!)

Friday morning we went out to Ano Nuevo State Park to see the elephant seals. We actually went there 3 years ago right after getting engaged so it was fun to go again.

The morning was cold and slightly cloudy but not too bad for early March on the coast.

This is a baby elephant seal. Just chilling in the mud.

You can see some seals out on the beach. We got to see quite a few baby seals and a few adults
When we went before it was mid-February so we saw tons of pregnant seals. I was surprised
at how different it was this time!

Kay & Dave!
We spent the afternoon in Santa Cruz and Gilroy (outlets!!) which was really nice. However,
I was so exhausted that I fell asleep on the hotel bed at 8pm fully dressed! Scott and his parents
went on an evening walk to the Boardwalk and had some birthday cake. Guess
pregnancy is really taking it out of me!

Saturday morning we went to the Mystery Spot. It's just a clever optical illusion that everyone should visit someday. Scott and his dad tried to figure things out and got stumped!

Having the weird effects of gravity made Scott much more flexible!

And he could really lean forward!

Yeah, the house would probably collapse in an earthquake!

Scott and Dave.

Thanks for helping us have a great birthday weekend Kay and Dave! We're excited to see you guys again in June when we have the baby and Scott graduates! (That's going to be another crazy month with probably very little blogging...)
