Pinewood Derby

The EQ had a pinewood derby a few weeks ago and true to form we waited too long to build a complicated car... (I mostly blame this on the bed frame that is still unfinished.)
In the end Scott just had a block of wood with wheels.

Jackson tried to steal the best (but probably most dangerous) seat in the house.

Despite the simple design, Scott was unable to win any races.
In fact, his car never even made it to the finish line! Hahahaha!
Luckily they gave away a prize for the slowest car.

Jackson was a huge help with the cleanup...

Gizdich Ranch

Last year a friend and I went down to Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville for some delicious strawberry picking. It was memorable from both the crazy kids and delicious pies.
She kept a careful eye and we went on opening day this year. I was a bit nervous there would be slim pickings but I was totally wrong! The strawberries were enormous and plentiful.

These kids are so cute.

It's kinda sad when a kid learns to smile for the camera.
You no longer get cute candid shots, you get this.
(And Jackson was a champ at picking clods of dirt instead of strawberries.)

The ultimate picking crew!

Thankfully we had lunch before strawberry picking so we actually had some to take home!

 Until next year Gizdich!

Why didn't I post?

Are you wondering if I had the baby and didn't post last week?
No.
The reason I didn't post is because the new Photos App is awful and making my life impossible.
I couldn't figure out how to upload pictures.
Let's hope for better things this week...

Park fun

We went to a birthday party at a park and it was super fun!

Jackson and his friend Will chased the kite (and bigger) kids for about an hour.
Jackson finally succeeded in stealing away the kite but no necessarily flying it!

Will was so cute. He's a little older than Jackson and therefore more steady on his feet. Jackson was more determined in following around the kids but would fall a lot. Every time Jackson fell Will would go down too, thinking it was a game. Kids are hilarious!

And I can I please rant about this stupid thing? It's fine to have it but can there please be 2 rules:
have it gated off and don't let dad's push it around as possible?!?
Seriously people, pregnant moms can't get their reluctant toddlers off fast enough when you do stupid stuff like that! Thankfully no one was hurt but that was only by the grace of God.

Train on the brain

This will come as no surprise but I just want to officially declare that Jackson LOVES trains.
We were at my parent's for a little bit one evening and my dad totally blew his mind. This little LEGO train has made Jackson happier than should be reasonable.

I also got him a little wooden train set (with a few Chuggington trains!) and he's happiest just playing there. Can you see he even has his apron on? He's rather play trains than cook!

We stopped by my work and he got a ride in their "train".

Every noise gets a solid "choo choo!" when we drive by.
It's adorable!

Go-Karting

About twice a week Scott bikes to work with a good friend; if they don't bike then they usually talk on the bus. This friend is into go-karting so they finally made time to go together.
Every time Scott has talked to me about go-karting I thought of it as bumper cars
and it sounded sort of fun but also kinda lame.

Jackson and I tagged along (until bedtime) and it was a lot louder and faster than I expected.

Jackson wasn't too sure of all the noise but also couldn't look away.
He was also a little scared of Scott in a helmet!

Croncord

(While not spelled correctly, that's how my niece pronounces Concord.)

The other week we tagged along with my mom to go visit my sister.
Jackson booked it to the backyard and was hardly seen again.

The boys were happy to see each other but had a hard time figuring out how to play together.
(And on a similar note, we just found out that Jackson is the nursery bully
and it's been going on for a while...)

We all took a post-nap walk and Jackson was intensely jealous of the scooter.
Logan is faster than a hummingbird. He's EVERYWHERE!
Next time the only place he'll be is in a stroller...

And do you know what today is?
One month from my due date.
