Niles Canyon Train

Before I move onto things we did in June I want to do a little catch up with Memorial Day weekend.
Late Thursday night we were brainstorming about how to have a fun weekend with Jackson (thinking Matthew would come during the first week of June). We had a few things to do around the house but still wanted to make some memories. Scott thought up taking a train ride and coincidentally a local train was running for the holiday weekend. (It normally only runs on Sunday afternoon so this was super fortunate to have it run on Saturday and Monday.)

I was super excited to see Jackson's reaction.
I either wanted him giddy with joy or a meltdown of joy.
I got neither.

He was stone-cold-sober.
On the drive up he kept point to the train tracks but once we got there he had no emotion.

He just silently looked out the window.

They let people get off and had the train drive by and whistle.

Still no emotion.

His only smile was from Scott's tickles.

Despite the lack of emotions had a super great time.

"Let's ride the rails!!!"

  1. Haha. It must be the face of a little boy who's had all of his wildest dreams come true.
