London: St Paul's Cathedral, Hamley's, & Buckingham

Monday was our first day actually in London so we decided to start the rainy morning off with a bus tour of the city. It was nice to see everything but the traffic is awful and our guide's accent was pretty thick. I read somewhere that live guides are often funnier or have more random tid-bits but I feel like live guides are a crap shoot and perhaps the recorded one is easier to understand.
In the afternoon we climbed up the dome of St Paul's Cathedral
There are 3 different levels and we made it to the top!

London makes for a beautifully stormy panorama.

Me on the steps.
Although it rained daily we weren't surprised and expected worse so it turned out great!

In the evening we went to Hamley's, allegedly the largest toy store in the world.
They had some awesome LEGO displays.

I bought Jackson a little car set that turned out to be pencil sharpeners so that was a bust...

And we made a quick stop at Buckingham Palace to say hello to the Queen!

  1. That is a pretty cityscape picture. I'm glad to see that there is also a picture of Scott without headphones.
I thought that the bus tour was interesting because you realized how close together everything is. When you are riding around on the underground you have no idea.
